Diabetic "eating"

guys@consolidated.net - 27 Aug 2008 20:54 GMT Today it is very clear how a diabetic should eat.
In the fifth grade long before WW2 I had a good health course. The general popuations problem seemed to be manutration. A cure then was milk which was a whole food. Now we know more but get caught up in fads.
Presentation was not an issue then. It trying to get enough food to reduce hunger.
We now live in a food, sex, and vacation world. It it working well?
Dr. Chung's advice is very proper. Like him or not.
The commericial world sells food and then sells a cure for overeating. Then sells pills to placate the disease caused by the behavior.
Be slim and trim and the other sex will take note of you. Just be careful where you go there.
Diabetes is a minor disease compared to some some around today.
Too much concern with "good eating" here.
Do not eat yourself to death. preceded by much misery.

I love to see postings of all types. I keep a few busy and they let others alone. At time you are pretty good but that does not excuse personal insults with impunity. This is not a place for temper fits.
My whole point is they are not proper here under any circumstances.
simply ignore posts or posters you do not like.
You know very well I will blast the medical profession and other sacred cows. You know very well I respect competence and hate big braggarts. Read accordingly. I am not your peer in any way.

In other words, you love to see postings regardless of whether they are relevant to diabetes? Then try some of these newsgroups to add to the postings you see:

Informing folks that it remains smarter to eat less, down to the right amount is not advice but rather news that is appropriate for usenet newsgroups:

He pulled off a tire but lost the lug nuts down a drain.
As he cussed an inmate looking over the fence suggested he take one lug from the other wheels. It worked.
Then he asked the inmate why he was there.
The inmate said "I am crazy but not stupid".

Rich Jersey cow milk where half the glass bottle was risen cream. Some times you shook it sometimes you drank just the top. emmmm good.
Everybody should eat a diabetic diet. Low fat, Low carbs, Low sugar, Low Salt and small portions. It's the only way to live over 100.

>People who starve a lot live longer. Tell that to the people in Somalia or The Sudan.
People who starve a lot die. Extremes kill, moderation extends life.
A very minor modification to your initial statement is one I agree with:
Everybody should eat a more sensible diet, compared to the average person in my country. Lower fat, lower carbs, lower sugar, lower Salt and smaller portions.

terryc - 30 Aug 2008 01:11 GMT > People who starve a lot live longer. That study was in mice and their average, natural life is measured in weeks. Plus, the ones they use in labs are really the end result of specialist breeding projects, so any result is hardly bears any relationship to reality.
Robert Miles - 30 Aug 2008 05:17 GMT > Today it is very clear how a diabetic should eat. > [quoted text clipped - 11 lines] > > Dr. Chung's advice is very proper. Like him or not. His religious advice or the much-too-rare suitable advice he gives about diabetes? I'd be more willing to read his advice about diabetes if he'd start posting only advice about diabetes to the diabetic newsgroups, stop the flood of messages that have nothing to do with diabetes, and quit crossposting such messages to non-diabetic newsgroups except when that's the best way to help a diabetic find a diabetic newsgroup.
